Mrs. Scalzo's class had tons of visitors today! We had Temple Theatre come and read us a story! Then we met a scientist who works on saving the trees!

Here are some more highlights from today! Thank you to all of our readers once again!

Good evening Tiger Families! We would like to thank all of the readers that came out today and read to our students! They really enjoyed it! It meant a lot to us that you took time out of your busy schedules to come out and celebrate Read Across America Week with us today! We would like to remind everyone about our events taking place tomorrow evening beginning with our Second grade STEAM Night that will be held in the cafeteria from 4:30-6:30pm. We will also have our Third grade Parent Night session at 5:00pm in Ms. Calcutt's room. This session will take place before the Third grade program at 6:00pm. All students should report by 5:30pm so they can be ready to perform at 6:00pm. We will also have our March PTSO meeting at 5:00pm in Ms. Woodard's room across from the Media Center. The Book Fair will stay open until 7:00pm for anyone who would like to browse or shop! There are many items to choose from for all ages! We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! Have a great evening!

Ms. Woodard had Mrs. Lee's third grade class to act out a few skits today during her lesson on "Flipping Your Lid." Over the past few lessons, she has taught the students how important it is to understand how your brain takes control of how we act to control our bodies and emotions.

Mrs. Solorzano's class loved having Dr. Dossenbach, Superintendent of Lee County Schools, as a guest reader today! Thank you for sharing your love of reading with our students!

Mrs. Lee's class enjoyed their reader today. Thank you Mr. Alverson for reading Sneetches and teaching a lesson through reading to our class.

We loved seeing everyone dress up in their Dr. Seuss costumes! Can't wait to see what everyone wears tomorrow!

Due to predicted weather concerns, haircuts have been rescheduled for Thursday!💇🏽

Good evening Tiger Families! We would like to thank everyone who help to support our programs last week and those who came in to volunteer! We really appreciate each of you! As we move forward this week, we have more exciting things taking place at Wicker! Make sure that you mark your calendars! This week we will celebrate Read Across America Week. Each day our students will celebrate books and the joy of reading! We will also celebrate by having a Spirit Week; every day is a dress up day based on a book by Dr. Suess! We will kick it off tomorrow with Crazy Sock Day! So make sure everyone wears their crazy socks! The teachers will let the students know each day what students need to dress in for the following day. The flyer is also posted on our website, Facebook page, and on Thrillshare. Our Book Fair also begins this week! Make sure that you come out to purchase items from our Book Fair. The funds come back to the school to help purchase items that are needed for our students. On Wednesday, March 5th, we will have a lot of visitors in the building reading to our students! We do appreciate everyone who accepted our invitation to come and read, especially our Superintendent and Central Office staff along with various community leaders and workers. We will also conduct our Statewide Tornado Drill on Wednesday morning. More information will be coming out about this. On Thursday our 2nd graders will conduct a STEAM night from 4:30-6:30pm and our 3rd graders will have a Parent Night session beginning at 5pm and then host a Family Dance Night at 6pm! As you can see we are very busy at W. B. Wicker! However, learning is always the focus. With that being said, we are still in need of volunteers for our small groups. If you would like to help out, please contact Mr. Beasley. We look forward to seeing everyone in the morning before the tardy bell rings. Have a great evening!
