Good evening Tiger Families! Whew, we have had some busy weeks and another one coming up this week! Let's brace ourselves for the end of the end; it's going to fly fast! This week we are inviting all ESL parents to come out on Tuesday, April 29th from 4:30 until 5:30pm, for our ESL Parent Night. Our teachers will have great information to help you close out this school year with EOG testing information, updates on ACCESS testing, getting connected for next year with Campus Parent, and much more. On Wednesday, April 30th, we will host our Duke Energy STEM Night! We are excited about this because our students have worked so hard on their Science Fair projects that will be on display, our live Wax Museum that will be on display, and all the stations that will be set up for students and parents to create, build, and have fun with STEM! Mr. Stinson and our staff have worked hard to put this event together and we hope that you will come out from 4:30 until 6:30pm to enjoy it all! Also, on Wednesday, April 30th, for all rising sixth graders that will attend West Lee Middle School, they will be hosting their 6th Grade Parent Night Session from 6:00-7:30pm. They will have staff on hand to answer any questions that you may have about middle school and making the transition. Also, we are encouraging all rising sixth graders to apply for the Middle School AVID Programs. Please reach out to the middle school that you are supposed to attend for more information and the application process. All three middle schools are still taking applications. We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves at our Spring Fling event on last Friday evening! Thank you to everyone who came out to support! Thank you to our PTSO for sponsoring it as well as our vendors, food trucks, and staff for your support as well! When you have a moment, please check out our website to view our Parent Newsletter and see all of the information that is listed on the newsletter! Please make sure that your arrive before our 7:55am bell. If you arrive after the bell, you are considered tardy and will need to be signed in at the front office. We look forward to seeing everyone bright and early in the morning. Have a great evening!

Ms. Woodell and Mr. Arnold's first graders explored some of Earth's natural resources today as they sifted through bags of dirt/sand that Ms. Woodell brought back from our very own NC mountains to see if they could discover any precious gemstones or minerals. They worked collaboratively to help each other with the process of sifting and the excitement on their faces was priceless!! They began describing their properties and throughout this week students will sort and classify their findings, graph and analyze their data, sequence their procedure using pictures and writing, choose one of their treasures to be their pet rock which they will then use their craft as an author to describe an adventure with their pet rock!! 🪨💎⛰️🔬📊✍️📝🥰
