Thank you to all of our amazing parents and families who came out tonight to level up with us! You learned about what and how your child is learning this year and ways you can power up their success at home. We also had our AIG and ESL nights along with our PTO meeting—it was a full night of teamwork! 💙
We love the many ways our families show up to support our school. If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry—your child’s teacher will be sending the information your way soon.

🎨✨ "Ooo lalala!" – that’s what you’ll hear in Mrs. Bryant’s art room this week! Our 2nd graders are channeling their inner Vincent van Gogh as they create beautiful sunflower art. 🌻
They’ve learned that Van Gogh was from the Netherlands (Dutch, Holland!) and that he was inspired by the bright colors of France 🎨🌈. Students are working on overlapping shapes and noticing how art often connects to other subjects — so much learning happening through creativity!
💛 Be sure to ask your 2nd grader what Dutch phrase they learned this week! 🇳🇱

A couple of reminders for this week Eagle Families:
📢 Morning Car Rider Line – We Need Your Help!
Families, we have about 50 more cars in the car rider line this year than last year! 🚗 Thank you for helping us get every student out safely and on time.
✅ Here’s how you can help:
Have your Ingram students seated on the passenger side, unbuckled, and ready to go before you pull up to the cones.
Say your goodbyes and “have a great day!” before you get to the drop-off area.
Encourage your child to open their own door and grab their belongings to keep the line moving.
Car line begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 8:00 a.m.
Breakfast is served until 7:55 a.m. Students who arrive after that will go straight to class.
If you arrive at or after 8:00 a.m. (no staff will be outside), you must park, walk your child inside, and sign them in.
📖 From Our Handbook:
🚗 Morning Drop-Off (7:30–8:00 a.m.)
Students may be dropped off at the front car rider line starting at 7:30 a.m.
Once staff is seen on duty, students may begin unloading on the passenger side.
Students may open their own doors to encourage independence and keep the line moving.
The tardy bell rings at 8:00 a.m.—please be on time!
Plan to arrive by 7:40 a.m. if your child will eat breakfast.
Breakfast ends at 7:55 a.m.—no food is allowed in classrooms.
Arrivals after 8:00 a.m. are considered tardy. You must park and sign your child in at the front office.
🚦 Safety Reminder:
All drop-offs must occur in the front circle—no drop-offs or pick-ups in the side lot. Students must enter/exit from the passenger side only.
Thank you for working with us to keep mornings safe and smooth for everyone! 💛

👩🔬 Science Safety in Action! 🥽🍋
Ms. McGuire’s class wrapped up their unit on how to do science safely with a fun lemon volcano experiment! Students suited up with goggles 🥽, just in case the lemons decided to explode (spoiler: they erupted instead — much to the slight disappointment of a couple of students 😆).
They discovered that the more baking soda they used, the bigger the eruption — and even asked if they could eat the lemons afterward (the answer was a big NO! 🍋🚫).
It was a hands-on way to learn about safety tools, science rules, and making careful observations. Way to go, scientists! 🔬✨

💙 We are so thankful for our continued community support! 💙
Sanford First Pentecostal Holiness Church donated school supplies and even visited our school on workdays, offering prayers for those who wanted. Pastor Steve Ray from Good News Baptist also dropped off a huge load of supplies.
These generous donations make a big difference—helping ensure our students in need don’t go without the pencils, paper, and other essentials needed for daily schoolwork.
Thank you to both of these wonderful congregations for their kindness and support of our students and staff! ✏️📚🙏

📚✨ Our K-2 students are starting each day with Heggerty Lessons, building the phonics and phonemic awareness skills that create a strong foundation for reading and writing!
Want to support your child at home? Try asking them:
🔤 Can you name all your letters and their sounds?
👂 Can you blend these sounds together to make a word: /c/… /a/… /t/?
✏️ If I say the sound /m/, can you write the letter that makes that sound?
These quick activities are a fun way to reinforce what we’re practicing at school each day.

First Day of School Reminder – We’re Ready for Our Eagles!
Dear J.R. Ingram Families,
Tomorrow is the big day for our 1st through 5th graders—the first day of the 2025–2026 school year! We can’t wait to welcome our Eagles back to campus.
Kindergarten families:
Kindergarten will have a staggered entry and will arrive at 8:30 a.m.
Enrollment Documents:
If your child’s enrollment is missing any required documents, please submit those to the school office as soon as possible. This ensures we can keep accurate records and avoid any interruptions to your child’s school day.
Bus Rider Reminder:
Please keep in mind that bus routes may look a little different from last year with new students riding. This week, buses will not yet have kindergarten students, but starting next week, their addition will likely increase route times.
We appreciate your patience as our drivers work out the kinks in their routes to ensure all students arrive and get home safely.
Don’t forget—we have the Here Comes the Bus App, so you can track your child’s bus in real time.
Meals:
All students receive free breakfast and lunch this year. Check out the attached flyer for more details and helpful links.
We are super excited to get started and can’t wait to see all our smiling Eagles tomorrow morning! 🦅💛
Sincerely,
Melissa Brewer

A huge THANK YOU to our fabulous PTO for treating our staff to a delicious breakfast this morning! 🥐☕ Your generosity fuels our work and our hearts. 💛 If you’d like to help support our school, there are so many ways to get involved — from volunteering in classrooms to helping at events — every hand makes a difference! 🙌
After breakfast, we jumped right into our Opening Meeting — reviewing our Game Plan as we Level Up: Game On this year! 🎮
✅ We connected through fun, video-themed team games 🎥
✅ We reviewed data, explored the new District Strategic Plan, and dug into resources to keep us aligned in our mission 📊
✅ We got creative making custom ink pens — each one designed by our staff to write this year’s game blueprint 🖊️
✅ We broke into small group sessions around the school to sharpen our skills and strategies
It was so inspiring to be surrounded by familiar faces and new friends — all with the same passion for impacting our community and building up our children. ❤️
Oh, and yes… there may have been a little friendly Mario Kart competition in the mix while some were finishing up breakfast. 🏎️💨
Here’s to a year of teamwork, growth, and making this game the best one yet! 🎯 #GameOnJRI #LevelUp #WeAreIngram

🚨SWING SET UPDATE!🚨
We’re thrilled to announce that our swings are fully installed and ready for the 25-26 school year! 🎉
Of course, before we could let the kids try them out, a few of us had to do some very serious, very professional “safety testing”… you know, just to make sure everything was in working order. 😜💁♀️💁♂️
Good news: they passed the adult test! ✔️
Better news: they were professionally installed and fully inspected—no issues at all. They’re good to go!
We can’t wait to see our Eagles soaring high on the swings this year! 🦅💙

🎒 Kindergarten Loading… 🎒
Today we welcomed over 30 of our newest Eagles for Kindergarten Summer Bridge, and they came in with big smiles, even bigger energy, and a song in their hearts—literally! Principal Brewer rode the bus this morning and was serenaded by our young riders with an impromptu rendition of “Wheels on the Bus.” 🚌🎶
Our incoming kindergarteners got a sneak peek at life at JR Ingram: they toured the school, visited classrooms, explored learning centers, listened to read-alouds like Rainbow Fish, and even braved the heat to check out the Kindergarten playground. Most importantly, they made new friends and took their very first steps into what will be a wonderful journey of growth, learning, and joy.
Welcome to the family, Class of 2038—we’re wild about learning and so excited to watch you soar! 💙💛
