Good Evening, families - This is a reminder that students will dismiss tomorrow Friday December 19th at 12 Noon. Please send a written note if your student will be dismissed differently than normal. We can NOT take changes over the phone. Thank you!

Students in Ms. Todd's kindergarten class explored the changing seasons by creating Y-shaped trees using paint sticks, then compared their artwork to the bare trees visible in our courtyard. This cross-curricular activity combined art with mathematical observation as students identified overlapping lines, diagonal patterns, curves, and various line lengths in both their creations and nature. They noted similarities and differences between their artistic interpretations and the actual trees, practicing compare and contrast skills while incorporating mathematical vocabulary into their artistic process. The exercise encouraged students to observe their natural environment with the careful attention of scientists, connecting seasonal changes to both artistic expression and mathematical concepts.

J.R. Ingram will dismiss at 12 Noon on December 19.
There will be no school December 22-January 5.
School will resume January 6

📚✨ Our second graders have been running as fast as they can to explore modern twists on classic fairy tales in media this week!
With the help of our Media Specialist, Mrs. Parker, students read and compared fun new stories—like Super Pigs and The Gingerbread Man—to the traditional tales we all know and love.
They enjoyed spotting similarities, differences, and all the clever ways authors reimagine old favorites! 💫
🏃♂️📖 Run, run, as fast as you can… to check out this book and others from our media center!

Our 4th and 5th grade students have been working on an architecture unit during their library special. The unit began with discussions about architecture, architects, and various top rated architecture around the world. After their discussion, students were grouped together to create an architectural design of their own. First, they drew a blueprint of their design. Next, they created their design using 30 index cards and masking tape. Their index cards were their “budget.”
During this unit, students learned about architecture, but also about working with others, listening to others ideas, and executing those ideas as a team.

Our Ingram 1st and 2nd graders had a fantastic learning experience on Wednesday!
The National Theatre for Children visited our school to perform their interactive show, Once Upon a Flame.
In the story, Tinkerfred wants to bake a cake—but none of his natural-gas appliances are working! Along his journey, he meets a cast of fun characters who teach him what natural gas is, how it’s formed, how it gets to our homes, the ways we use it, and how to stay safe around it.
Our students loved the performance and came away with valuable science and safety knowledge.

🇺🇸 Happy Veterans Day! 🇺🇸
Last night, our J.R. Ingram family came together for a wonderful Veterans Day concert to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. 💙❤️
A big thank you to the Lee County High School JROTC Color Guard for presenting our colors so beautifully during the program — we loved having you with us! 👏
Today and every day, we are so thankful for our veterans and the sacrifices they’ve made to protect our freedom. Thank you for your service! 🇺🇸
