Hello families! Can you believe we are nearly done with the first month of school? Thank you for a great first month!
🚌 Bus Transportation Reminder: Pick-Up Times, Transportation Changes & Community Stops
Deep River families, we want to share a few important transportation reminders to help keep our students safe and our buses running efficiently.
⏰ BUS PICK-UP TIMES
Please have students at their assigned bus stop and ready for the bus within 10 minutes of the scheduled pick-up time listed in Parent Portal. Bus arrival times may vary slightly from day to day due to traffic, student attendance, and other factors along the route.
Being at the stop and ready helps prevent delays and keeps our routes moving safely and on schedule.
📝 TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
All transportation changes must be handwritten and sent to school with your student.
For the safety of our students, we cannot accept transportation changes over the phone or through Parent Portal. Sending a written note helps us ensure that transportation changes are clearly communicated and that students are sent home using the correct method of transportation.
📍 COMMUNITY BUS STOPS
Some students are assigned to community bus stops designated by the Bus Garage/Transportation Department. These stops provide safe, consistent, and efficient locations for students to board and exit the school bus.
Rather than having a bus make multiple house-to-house stops within the same area, students may be assigned to a centralized community stop.
Community stops help:
• Reduce the number of times a bus must stop along a roadway
• Create consistent and predictable locations for students and families
• Support safer traffic flow around school buses
• Help buses maintain their routes and schedules
• Promote safe and efficient transportation for all students
We understand that community stops may require some families to walk a short distance to meet the bus.  As part of our transportation guidelines, students may be asked to walk up to one-half mile to their assigned bus stop, and bus stops are generally placed at least 0.2 miles apart to support safe and efficient bus routes. We appreciate your understanding, flexibility, and partnership as we work with our Transportation Department to keep student safety at the center of our transportation procedures.
Thank you for helping us keep our Gators safe! 🐊💙💚

Good afternoon Bus 54 is delayed starting its route as the Bus garage needed to replace a belt in the engine. Students are in the library waiting for the bus and we will alert you when we start the route.
