Good morning! Deep River had a tornado drill today for the statewide tornado drill! All students and staff were safe during this drill.

Mrs. Campos and Mrs. Michels started their new positions today! Mrs. Campos is still in the front office and working as our new bookkeeper! Mrs. Michels has moved up to the front office as our receptionist!

This week is National Social Worker Week! We appreciate Ms. Brooke Hartson for everything she does for our students, families, and staff! Thank you!

5th grade families, do not forget that East Lee is hosting their Rising 6th grade night on Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm!

Congratulations to Mrs Lori Tillet, our bookkeeper, on her retirement! Today is her last day working at the River! We appreciate everything that you do for our staff, students, and families! Yesterday, we had a little celebration with her family!

Earlier this week we celebrated our bus drivers, monitors, and support staff for buses! Congratulations again to Ms Kelsey Atkins for being named bus driver of the year! 💚💙🐊🚌

Next week, we have a teacher workday on Tuesday and spring pictures on Thursday! There will be no school for students on Tuesday. Teachers will be sending home picture information, if they have not already!

Good morning! We performed a lockdown drill today at Deep River! All students and staff were safe during the entire time of this drill. We perform these drills periodically throughout the school year.

This month is Dental Health Awareness and kindergarten students learned all about taking care of their teeth today! Thank you to Christina Wills from the NC Pediatric Dentistry for presenting virtually to our students! They also got a toothbrush to take home! 🪥🦷💙💚🐊

Congratulations to our Bus Driver of the Year, Ms Kelsey Atkins!! We surprised Ms Atkins on Friday with her bus students and her family members. We are so thankful for Ms Atkins and her love and dedication for her students! 💚🐊💙🚌

Good morning Miss Atkins is starting the route now. She is driving the substitute bus 189. She is about 35 minutes behind schedule. Students will not be marked tardy and they’ll be given time to get breakfast before heading to class.

Good morning! Bus 49 is having mechanical issues this morning. Bus garage is coming out with a sub bus and a mechanic. We will post when Bus 49 route starts.

Congratulations to Gregory for placing 2nd place and Arza for placing 4th place overall in the county wide spelling bee!! They did so great tonight! They were the top two elementary school students in the competition! 💙💚🐊🐝
