Career and Technical Education (CTE) in the Leadership realm is like being the team captain, the clubhouse leader, and the field general all at once. It’s not just about personal skill; it’s about lifting the entire team, setting the tone, and helping everyone perform at their best.
At its core, the Leadership Team in Career and Technical Education is about influence and impact. It prepares students not just to play the game, but also helps teachers to guide it.
Because every successful team needs someone who can steady the dugout in the bottom of the ninth, inspire confidence, and help everyone swing for the fences together

Career and Technical Education (CTE) in the middle school exploratory realm is like Little League before the big stadium lights come on. It’s not about locking in one position forever; it’s about trying out different spots on the field, learning the fundamentals, and discovering what you enjoy.
Because before anyone hits a walk-off home run, they first have to learn how to step up to the plate.

At its core, Career and Technical Education in the Family and Consumer Sciences realm is about strengthening the “home team.” It blends practical life skills with professional pathways that support individuals, families, and communities.
Because while the spotlight shines on the players rounding the bases, it’s the nutritionists, educators, event planners, counselors, and hospitality professionals who make sure everyone is ready for game day, and for life.

At its core, Business and Marketing CTE prepares students to understand how organizations operate, grow, and compete. It blends strategy, creativity, and analytics, much like managing a baseball franchise through a long season.
Because while fans see the home runs and highlight reels, it’s the business and marketing professionals who sell the tickets, secure the sponsors, manage the payroll, and keep the organization financially strong.
In this realm of CTE, students aren’t just watching the game—they’re running it.

At its core, Career and Technical Education in Trade and Industry is about preparation, precision, and teamwork. It’s about showing up every day, doing quality work, and understanding that the game depends on everyone doing their job well.

At its core, Career and Technical Education in Agriculture is about stewardship, science, and sustainability. It’s about preparing the field, nurturing growth, and supporting the entire team—from the soil beneath our feet to the food on our tables.
Because just like baseball can’t happen without a well-prepared diamond, communities can’t thrive without the skilled agricultural professionals who keep everything growing.

Career Development Coordinators in Career and Technical Education is like having a seasoned baseball manager and scouting director rolled into one. While players focus on the game, the CDC studies the lineup, builds partnerships, and helps each “player” find the right position for long-term success. It ensures students don’t just sit in the stands watching others succeed; they get their shot at the plate.
Because while the spotlight shines on the players hitting home runs, it’s the steady leadership in the dugout that helps them get there in the first place.

At its core, Health Science CTE is about preparation meeting opportunities. It combines academic knowledge with technical skills, workplace professionalism, and real-world experience. Just like baseball demands discipline, teamwork, and attention to detail, healthcare requires steady hands, clear communication, and a commitment to serving others.
When students complete a health science CTE program, they’re not just learning about healthcare—they’re stepping up to the plate, ready to swing for a career that truly makes a difference.

When people think about AVID, they often think about binders, planners, tutorials, and strong study habits. Yes - organization and academic skills are a huge part of what makes Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) so impactful. But as one of our future-focused pathways, AVID is so much more than that.
Mrs. Washington’s AVID Elective Class at Lee County High recently got the opportunity to practice something equally important - the soft skills that will help shape their future - through the class ‘Etiquette Lunch.’ These students got the opportunity to step into a more formal setting and practice:
⭐ Navigating a professional meal
⭐ Practice proper dining etiquette
⭐ Engage in meaningful conversation
⭐ Make eye contact and confident introductions
⭐ Present themselves with professionalism
Whether our students are preparing for college interviews, scholarship banquets, internships, networking events, or future business meetings, these experiences build confidence in environments they may not have encountered before. AVID gives them a safe space to learn, practice, and grow before the stakes are high. This event also allowed Mrs. Metzger’s Culinary Arts 3 students to prepare and serve a formal meal like they would at a high end restaurant.
The future will ask our students to do more than pass tests. It will ask them to collaborate, communicate, lead, and represent themselves with confidence. Opportunities like the Etiquette Lunch through AVID ensures that they are ready. 🍽️

For #WellBeingWednesday, we're celebrating the incredible creativity of physical education teachers in our local public schools that bring movement to life in meaningful ways!
At Deep River Elementary, Mr. Matsik is a shining example of how educators can spark curiosity and excitement by connecting PE to real-world moments. By tapping into current events like the Winter Olympics, he introduces students to new sports, fresh challenges, and inspiring stories of perseverance from around the globe.
When students learn about Olympic events, whether it is curling strategy, speed skating technique, or the power behind bobsledding, they're not just hearing about them. They explore modified versions in class, discovering new skills and building confidence through movement.
Creative educators like Mr. Matsik remind us that PE is about more than games - it is about igniting passion, encouraging lifelong wellness, and helping students see themselves as active, capable individuals ready to thrive well beyond their school days.

❤️February is Love the Bus Month! ❤️
They are custodians, instructional assistants, cafeteria workers, and sometimes even assistant principals - but bright and early in the morning or immediately after school they are the warm, caring, and dedicated team that gets students to and from school safely.
Our team of bus drivers are often the first smile many students see and the last wave they receive before heading home. They navigate 105 daily routes covering 5045 miles and burning more than 1000 gallons of fuel. Our drivers play a critical role in student safety and daily operations. Their professionalism, reliability and care ensure that thousands of students are able to connect to their school community and receive the foundational education they need to thrive.
To each of our bus drivers, thank you for your dedication and commitment to keeping our students safe. You are an essential part of our school family. We appreciate you more than words can say!
If you see a bus driver this month, be sure to share a smile and a “Thank You!” 💛
