A special shoutout to our School Resource Officers (SROs) who work tirelessly to keep our schools safe, support our students, and foster a positive environment for learning. You are not just safety and security personnel, you become a part of our school family and your dedication, professionalism, and compassion make a difference every day in the lives of our students.
💙 You are more than just officers; you are mentors, protectors, and role models who play a vital role in shaping the future of our communities.

PUTTING DOWN ROOTS. Fourth grade students at Broadway Elementary helped plant a pair of maple trees on campus today during a visit from John Thomasson. Mr. Thomasson spoke with students about the vast array of products and foods that come from trees and the vital role that trees play in our ecosystem.
He showed students the proper planting depth for a new tree and discussed appropriate fertilizer and root care. Thanks to a partnership with Pilgram's, Mr. Thomasson sent each student home with a loblolly pine sapling to plant and apply what they learned.

Holiday spirit is sweeping Central Office as members of the Student Services Department are making some trips out to schools, including Warren Williams Pre-K this morning, to read holiday books to classes.
Santa's Workshop was also open to decorate cookies & make a holiday ornament ahead of the Dirty Santa gift exchange. It has been a refreshing time to stop and remember the good things that have happened this year as the hard-working staff were able to take a few moments to enjoy some time with each other.

Students and staff at Lee Early College were treated to a pajama day, hot chocolate, popcorn and a holiday movie afternoon to celebrate the school's designation as an "A" grade school on the NC School Report Cards. It was a well deserved reward for a great group of hard working students and staff! #LCSthrive
