'Twas the night before school starts, and all through the halls,
Not a student was stirring, no footsteps, no calls.
The classrooms were ready, the desks in neat rows,
Awaiting young minds where knowledge still grows.
The chalkboards were cleaned, the whiteboards wiped clear,
Markers and pencils all placed without fear.
Books sat in stacks, their pages all new,
Eager to share what they’re bursting to do.
The walls were adorned with bright-colored art,
Each corner of every room played its part.
The science lab gleamed, the gym held its air,
The library whispered, “Come see what’s in there!”
The teachers were ready, their lessons well-planned,
Excitement and nerves walking hand in hand.
The principal paced, reviewing each chart,
Ensuring all pieces would work from the start.
The Tiger, our mascot, stood proud at the door,
Guarding the school, the spirit it bore.
For tomorrow the students would fill every space,
With laughter and learning, and joy on each face.
And as the moonlight shone down on the scene,
The school stood in silence, so calm and serene.
For it knew that tomorrow, with the sun’s morning light,
The magic of learning would take its first flight.
So here's to the start of a new school year,
With promise and hope, and nothing to fear.
For the halls will soon echo with voices and cheer,
And the journey of knowledge will start right here.

Respected friends, colleagues and community members,
I am writing to you to tap into your networks to help obtain living items for our recently arrived international teachers in Lee County Schools. In addition to the teachers listed on this document, there are several other international teachers coming in the next few weeks who will also need the same or similar items in order to make a smooth transition to their new lives here in our beautiful community.
These teachers have taken a courageous journey from their home countries (Jamaica, Philippines, Honduras, Ecuador, Guyana, Kenya, and Costa Rica, just to name a few) to grow, support and enrich the lives of our youth here in Lee County. Let's show them what a great place this is in which to live and work! Please contact me if you are able to donate any of the items on the various lists for the different teachers (my contact information is at the end of this email). Some have arrived with a few things in place and some with a lot left to do. Some are here on their own, and some have families that will be joining them soon, therefore the lists are different for each person. If you, your organization, school, church or community group are able to donate any of the individual items that would be wonderful and very much appreciated. If you would like to "adopt a teacher" and fulfill their entire list, that would be great too! Items do not need to be new, just clean and in good condition.
Finally, almost all of our teachers are looking for affordable vehicles to buy. If you or someone you know has an affordable and reliable vehicle for sale, or if you know of a sales lot or dealership with affordable cars, please let me know that too so we can connect our teachers with potential car sellers.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and support. Feel free to share this email with others who may be able to help. I know that our community will pull together to ensure that these teachers are set up for a successful experience with our students and in our community.
