Ms. Woodell and Mr. Arnold's first graders explored some of Earth's natural resources today as they sifted through bags of dirt/sand that Ms. Woodell brought back from our very own NC mountains to see if they could discover any precious gemstones or minerals. They worked collaboratively to help each other with the process of sifting and the excitement on their faces was priceless!! They began describing their properties and throughout this week students will sort and classify their findings, graph and analyze their data, sequence their procedure using pictures and writing, choose one of their treasures to be their pet rock which they will then use their craft as an author to describe an adventure with their pet rock!! 🪨💎⛰️🔬📊✍️📝🥰

Good evening Tiger Families! As our Spring Break is coming to an end, we just want to give you a few highlights and reminders for the week!
On Tuesday, April 22nd @5:30pm - Kindergarten Kick Off in the Auditorium. All rising students that will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2025 are welcomed to attend! Parents and rising Tiger students will have an opportunity to tour the school and meet the Kindergarten teachers! Please visit our school website or Facebook page to scan the QR Code to find out what documents you will need to register your child.
On Wednesday, April 23rd from 5:30-7pm Staff vs. Student Basketball Game in the Gym. Admission $1, Concessions will be sold. Items will be from $1-$3.
On Friday, April 25th we will have our Annual Spring Fling from 4:30-6:30pm. We are in need of candy donations. If you’re able to donate, please send it in by Thursday, April 24th.
As you can see we have a very busy week ahead of us! We hope that you will join us! We will welcome students back on Tuesday, April 22nd bright and early in the morning! Please make sure that students arrive at or before 7:55am! After that time, students are considered late and will need to be signed in at the front office. Have a great evening!

This week, we celebrated Day of Valor with our teachers from the Philippines. Students were able to create masks, learn more about the Philippines, and participate in dance!

While we begin to get ready for the end of grade tests when we return from spring break, Mrs. Lee's third graders are teaching each other how to add and subtract with regrouping for two and three digit numbers.
