Please make sure that notes for the front office have the following information clearly printed: Student's full name, ID number, and grade level. If it is for an absence, clearly circle or highlight the dates the note covers and write the dates at the top. If the note is for an early release, include the parents' first and last name, telephone number, and email as the information will have to be verified. LTC McIntyre is retiring after serving as the Southern Lee JTOCT instructor for the past 16 years. His last day was more special when former Southern Lee JROTC Instructor SGM Thagard joined him. The remarkable bond and friendship between these two Army veterans is truly profound. They were deployed together to Iraq for 15 months while both were part of the U.S. Army's 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg. SGM Thagard is a former Southern Lee JROTC Instructor as well.
Their dedication and commitment to shaping the character and future of young cadets have left an indelible mark on the community. As LTC McIntyre steps into retirement, he does so with the satisfaction of a job well done and the respect of those he mentored and led. His legacy of leadership will continue to resonate through the stories and accomplishments of the students he inspired.
On his final day, amid the heartfelt farewells and expressions of gratitude, LTC McIntyre found himself reflecting on the countless memories made over the years. From early morning drills to the proud moments of pinning on new ranks, each experience was a thread in the rich tapestry of his career. The camaraderie and shared mission with SGM Thaggard enriched those days, adding a layer of friendship that extends beyond their military service.
As they stood side by side, reminiscing about their shared journey, it was clear that their impact would be felt long into the future. The values they instilled—honor, courage, and commitment—will continue to guide the next generation of leaders, ensuring that their legacy endures.
