Southern Lee hosted club rush last week with opportunities for students to join various organizations. We didn't want to leave our parents and guardians out. Please consider joining our PTO. The first meeting is on September 23rd at 6:00.

5 Reasons to Join the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Southern Lee High School

  • Support Student Success – Your involvement helps provide resources, events, and opportunities that directly benefit students.

  • Strengthen Communication – Stay informed and connected with teachers, staff, and administrators about what’s happening at Southern Lee.

  • Build Community – Meet other parents, share ideas, and work together to create a positive, welcoming Cavalier environment.

  • Make a Difference – Have a voice in decisions, fundraising, and activities that impact your child’s high school experience.

  • Be a Role Model – Show your child the importance of volunteering, leadership, and community involvement.

Hispanic Heritage Month is important to high school students because it gives them the chance to celebrate and learn about the rich traditions, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. It helps students understand history beyond textbooks by showing how Hispanic leaders, artists, scientists, athletes, and activists have shaped society. For Hispanic students, it’s a time of pride and recognition, while for others it’s an opportunity to appreciate diversity and build respect for different backgrounds.

At Southern Lee, celebrating this month can create a sense of belonging, encourage cultural awareness, and spark conversations about identity and inclusion. It also inspires Cavaliers to see role models who look like them achieving success in many fields, reminding them that their culture and heritage are valuable. By honoring Hispanic Heritage Month, we not only connect with the past but also learn how diversity strengthens their communities and future opportunities.
