It's almost time. Duke Science Night is this month!

🚀🌎🌙 **Hands-On Science in Action!**
In Mrs. Jennifer Koneski’s class, our third graders have been busy building Sun/Earth/Moon models as part of their Solar System study!
These interactive models have helped students *see* and *understand* how the Earth moves around the Sun and how the Moon moves around the Earth. Instead of just reading about it, they’ve been able to physically model:
* 🌎 Why we have day and night
* 🌙 The phases of the Moon
* 🌑 How solar and lunar eclipses happen
This connects directly to the **North Carolina 3rd Grade Science Standards**, which focus on understanding how the Earth, Moon, and Sun work together in predictable patterns. In kid-friendly terms, students are learning that:
✔ The Earth rotates (spins) to create day and night
✔ The Moon orbits (travels around) the Earth
✔ The Earth orbits the Sun
✔ Eclipses happen when these objects line up in specific ways
We love seeing our students engage in hands-on learning that makes big science concepts easier to understand. Way to go, third grade — you’re shining bright! 🌟

Mark your calendars!

Join us on March 19th for Duke Energy science night!

🚀✨ Out of This World! ✨🚀
Last night our 4th grade and 1st grade students took us on a musical mission that was truly out of this world! 🌎🌟
With a space-themed spectacular, our gym was packed full of families ready for liftoff—and our young astronauts did not disappoint! From stellar songs to cosmic choreography, they led us on a grand adventure through the galaxy. Their confidence, talent, and energy were shining brighter than the North Star! ⭐🎶
We are so proud of our students for blasting past expectations and delivering a performance that was nothing short of astronomical!
A huge THANK YOU to our families for filling the gym and supporting your children—and for orbiting over to our space-themed Book Fair as well. 📚🚀 Your support helps our school continue to grow and reach for the stars!
What a night at J.R. Ingram… the future is bright, and these Eagles are ready to soar into the stratosphere! 🦅✨
