🌟 Our 3rd graders reached for the stars! 🌟
They visited the Morehead Planetarium at UNC–Chapel Hill yesterday to explore what they’ve been learning in science — the Earth, moon, and sun, and the patterns we see in the sky. 🚀🌎✨
💬 Parents: What’s something that’s always fascinated you or your child about space?

Ms. Todd’s Kindergarten class wrapped up their 5 Senses unit with a tasty treat! After a 🍏 virtual field trip to an apple orchard, we used our sense of taste to try red, green, and yellow apples. Then, we voted on our favorite—though we loved them all so much we kept asking for more! 😋
🍎 Fun Fact: There are over 7,500 kinds of apples in the world!
🍏 Crunchy, sweet, or tart—each one made our senses come alive.
👉 Families, tell us in the comments:
Which apple is YOUR favorite—red, green, or yellow?
How do you like to eat apples—fresh, in pie, or as cider?

Recently our 5th graders had the honor of learning from the LCHS JROTC cadets about proper flag etiquette. The cadets demonstrated how to respectfully handle, raise, lower, and fold the American flag. 🇺🇸
Our 5th grade Color Guard proudly carries out this responsibility each day at J.R. Ingram, and we are so thankful to the JROTC for sharing their knowledge. Hats off to both our guest cadets and our student Color Guard for representing with respect and pride! 👏

🎮📚 Game On: Level Up! Our Eagles are powering up their reading skills with Six Minute Solutions! In these pictures, Ms. Spivey’s group—and students all around the building—are practicing fluency like champs.
Here’s how it works: students spend just six minutes a day reading short passages, building speed, accuracy, and confidence. The best part? They can track their own progress—like unlocking new achievements every time their scores improve! 🏆✨
We love seeing the excitement when students “level up” and celebrate their growth. 🚀🦅

✍️ In Mrs. Tripp’s first grade class, our Eagles are hard at work practicing their handwriting skills!
Handwriting isn’t just about neat letters on a page—it’s directly connected to reading fluency, spelling, and building the foundation for future success. When students strengthen their handwriting, they’re also strengthening their brains for learning across all subjects. 💡📚
We are so proud of the way our first graders are preparing today for the readers, writers, and leaders they’ll become tomorrow! 🦅💙
