Our first-ever Letteland Parade was a huge success! We loved seeing all of our favorite Letterland characters come to life, from Clever Cat and Firefighter Fred to Kicking King and Vicky Violet. A big thank you to all the families who attended or viewed online, and an extra shout-out for the amazing costumes you helped create. We also want to thank our dedicated kindergarten teachers for pouring their hearts into guiding our students’ learning every day. What a fantastic celebration of early literacy and creativity!

Happy National Custodian Day! A huge thank you to our incredible custodial team for all they do to keep J.R. Ingram clean, safe, and running smoothly. Your hard work behind the scenes makes a big difference every single day, and we are so grateful for you!

Lee County Schools is partnering with Downtown Sanford, Inc., Visit Sanford and others to collect items for our neighbors in Western NC who have seen their communities and homes devastated by flooding. You can send donation items on the list below with your child to school or you can deliver your items to the Visit Sanford Welcome Center (229 Carthage St.) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We are accepting: Bottled water or Gallons of water Sports drink powdered packets Baby wipes Diapers (children's & adult sizes) Baby formula Bug spray Sunscreen Plastic utensils Manual can openers Trash bags Non-perishable foods Cleaning supplies Plastic sheeting & tarps Toothbrushes & Toothpaste Toiletries & Sanitation Items Pet food (dog & cat) Hand sanitizer & wipes Heavy duty work gloves Socks (all sizes, unopened) Thank you for your generosity and follow Downtown Sanford, Inc. for updates on these efforts.

Take a look at some of the wonderful things happening at JRI! Mrs. LaBounty is working with students on Dudley Detective, sharpening their problem-solving skills and critical thinking. 🔍 Meanwhile, Mrs. Bryant's art students are creating unique paper sculptures that represent themselves. 🎨 Mr. Miller is preparing students for one of the many music concerts we’ll be hosting this year, filling our school with beautiful music! 🎶 We're also excited about a new partnership with Life Springs Church, offering a mentorship program for our 5th graders. 🙌 In our freshly renovated gym with brand-new floors, Mr. Ard is leading daily PE classes, keeping our students active and energized! 🏀 And in the library, Mrs. Parker is making sure students are checking out books and reading every night for at least 30 minutes. 📚 There’s so much learning and creativity happening here at JRI! #WildAboutLearning #JRImazing

LCS will operate on a 2-hour delay for students and staff on Tuesday, September 17. This delay will allow for additional daylight hours to ensure the safe travel of buses & provide extra time to make any necessary adjustments to our schedule should conditions change overnight.
