Miss Scroggins’ kindergartners build early reading skills through daily Heggerty lessons! This program helps students hear and work with sounds in spoken words through rhyming, identifying sounds, blending sounds together, and breaking words into individual sounds.
Each day, Miss Scroggins keeps an eye out for a “Heggerty Hero” to celebrate with their classroom buddy, Heggerty—the stuffed animal pictured! Students cheer each other on, making learning and celebrating classmates part of their daily routine. 💙💛
Mrs. David’s fifth graders put their order of operations skills to the test during an escape room–style math review! Students solved problems and cracked a code to unlock the treasure chest. 🧮🗝️
What a fun way to turn math practice into an adventure! 💙💛
Our 4th graders were busy exploring Magnetism and Math week!
As part of our science and math units aligned with North Carolina Standards, students learned how magnets interact with different materials. They made predictions, tested a variety of objects, and compared their results to see whether their hypotheses were correct. Students also worked with multiplication facts and sorted them into equal groups.
Hands-on learning like this helps students build real scientific thinking — observing, predicting, experimenting, and reflecting. Proud of their curiosity and teamwork!
Students read independently and with partners, comparing the Inca Empire to other early civilizations in South America while building their reading, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
We love seeing our Eagles engaged in meaningful learning and discovering how people and cultures from the past have shaped our world today. Great job, 5th grade! 💙💛

Beginning this school year, all district, school, and classroom communication will be sent through ParentSquare. This will be your one-stop shop for important updates, reminders, forms, sign-ups, newsletters, and classroom communication.
We know some families may be wondering if this is like the Rooms app that was introduced in the past. The answer is no! ParentSquare is a well-established platform that has been successfully used across Lee County Schools in grades 6-12 and has received positive feedback from both families and staff. We are excited to bring that same experience to our Eagle families.
With ParentSquare, you can:

✅ Choose how and when you receive notifications
✅ Communicate directly with teachers and staff
✅ Complete forms and permission slips electronically
✅ View calendars, events, and sign-ups
✅ Access communication in your preferred language
📅 Important Reminder:
ClassDojo will be permanently turned off on August 1. After that date, all communication from J.R. Ingram Elementary and Lee County Schools will come through ParentSquare.

It's officially summer break — but that doesn't mean things slow down around here! Ingram will be buzzing with camps and summer classes, and our spectacular custodial team will be hard at work wiping the slate clean and polishing everything up for the 2026–2027 school year.
