🎨 What an amazing day at the Lee County Schools Arts Festival! 🎶 Our students truly shined and represented our school with pride. From creative artwork to outstanding performances, their talent and hard work were on full display—and it brought quite the crowd! We are so proud of each and every student who participated. Your dedication and creativity continue to inspire us all. A special congratulations to Luis for being selected for the Mayor’s Choice Award and to Emma for earning the Principal’s Award! These honors are well deserved, and we couldn’t be more proud. We know the judges had some very tough decisions to make—there was so much incredible talent across Lee County! We are so grateful for the amazing support from our families and the wonderful team at Hwy 55 for making this year’s Spirit Nights such a success! These nights are about so much more than fundraising—they’re about bringing our school community together. It’s always special to see our students, families, and staff out enjoying time together, building connections, and showing pride in our school. Join us on April 25th from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM at W.B. Wicker Elementary for a fun-filled Festival of the Arts celebrating the incredible creativity and talent across all Lee County Schools.

This is more than just an event—it’s a chance to experience:
⭐ A beautiful Art Show featuring student work from across the district
⭐ Music & Singing performances that highlight our students’ talents
⭐ A Silent Auction supporting arts education

Come out and support not only our school, but all LCS students as they showcase their creativity and hard work. It’s a great way to spend the morning as a family while celebrating the importance of the arts in our schools.

🎭 All proceeds go directly to support Lee County Schools Arts Education!

The West Lee Band & Orchestra put on an amazing concert for our 5th graders today, under the direction of Mr. Cain — and Mr. Miller even got to join in on trumpet!
If your 5th grader is interested in Band or Orchestra at the middle school level, interest forms are available through their classroom teacher and should be returned to Mr. Miller. You can also complete the interest form online using the link below.

Mrs. Dakdouks’ class is making some beautiful noise as they dive into learning about the orchestra! 🎶 Today, our music teacher, Mr. Miller (and former marching band instructor), brought learning to life by introducing students to the brass family. He demonstrated how to play the trumpet, and students got to see—and hear—how it works up close! Ask your second grader about how to play a trumpet and see if they can tell you the special word musicians use—“buzz”—when they buzz their lips into the mouthpiece to create sound. 🎺 We’re excited to keep the learning going as students explore the other three families of the orchestra. They’re especially looking forward to trying out a string instrument—the ukulele—later this week! 🎻 Learning is loud, fun, and hands-on in second grade! 💛
