Due to high winds, we have lost power at several schools. At this time, we do not plan to release students early given the current conditions. Power is estimated to be restored between 11-11:30am. We will continue to monitor conditions to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Our area experiences a partial solar eclipse today from 1:57-4:28 pm. The maximum partial eclipse in Sanford is at 3:14 pm. A few reminders:
It is NEVER safe to look directly at the Sun. Looking at the Sun, even briefly, can cause permanent damage to your retinas and even blindness.
The only glasses which are safe for using are those labeled as ISO 12312-2 certified. Regular sunglasses, swimming goggles, smartphones, cameras, and telescopes are NOT safe for looking directly at the Sun.
Outdoor activities within LCS will be limited until after 4:30 p.m. Have fun and stay safe!

⭐️⭐️ Spirit Week⭐️⭐️
💚💙Day 5: Falcon Olympics 💚💙
🇺🇸 For the opening ceremony, Lee Senior JROTC opened with the presentation of the colors. After the welcoming statements, Ms. Crissman lead the Oath and a cheer. The torch run was held next, ran by four of our high school students. Next on the agenda was the staff game. Each homeroom had a staff member as a representative in which they participated in a cup flipping challenge mini tournament. All participants did a great job! Ms. Weekly was our winner and received a “Flippin’ Falcon” Trophy! Next, Ms. Womack delivered our prayer for our Falcon athletes. At the conclusion of ceremony Cavan, one of our high school students, helped us start the games by saying “Let the games begin.”
🤩 Each school age student participated in 2 events to showcase their talents! They were uniquely chosen for each student while keeping in mind their functional independence and their special interests. All students did amazing!
🥪🥤The Smith Family so generously prepared, donated, and served our special lunch for the FLK staff as well as all of the school age students. What a wonderful tradition they carry on as a family.
🏅 After lunch during the closing ceremony Mrs. Allen, our principal, presented each student with their ribbons and certificates for each of their events. We are so proud of our Falcons!!!
