Our Ag. Science students learned about the “Soil Profile” to help them visualize the layers we completed in the edible soil profile lab. This was a great experience for them and the students loved eating their "edible soil" at the end that they created!!

Our Ag. Science classes learned all about flowers and how pollination works last week with their hands-on pollination lab. They mimicked pollen by using Cheeto puffs and pretending they were bees by going from flower to flower with the Cheeto puff dust. This helped the students visualize how pollination works. Then, they were able to eat some Cheeto puffs after they completed the lab. The students loved it and had a great time!

Are you a rising 6th grader headed to middle school?! Register by June 28th to join us for West Lee summer bridge!

West Lee’s 6th and 7th grade AVID students visited the campus of Methodist University this week. Some highlights of their campus tour included a forensics class crime scene, the physical therapy aquatics lab, merch at the campus store, and of course, LUNCH in the campus dining hall!
As we wrap up this year’s AVID “field trip season,” our AVID family would like to extend a huge thanks to Mrs. Cox—princiPAL, bus driver, and chaperone extraordinare—for helping make our field trips possible this year. In addition, thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped with our dance fundraiser and/or joined us as chaperones on our adventures in higher education!
