Cavalier Battalion’s Cadets attend STEM Academy at South Carolina State University
Southern Lee High School’s cadets participated in JROTC’s second annual Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) camp at South Carolina State University (SCSU) June 11-17th. Southern Lee High School was one of 31 North and South Carolina’s high schools that attended. The camp was appropriately named “Camp Bulldog '' after SCSU’s mascot. Cadets were given a choice between Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Micro Controllers, and Rockets to explore during camp. All instruction was provided by South Carolina State’s excellent faculty and staff. In addition to the classroom instruction, cadets received presentations by Savannah River Plant, Fort Jackson’s Surgeon, Fort Gordon’s Cyber Security, and Nephron Pharmaceuticals. They also went on field trips to The South Carolina State Museum and Lexington Water Treatment Plant. The camp culminated with each STEM group presenting their final projects to their fellow cadets.

Following last night's Board of Education meeting we are pleased to announce that Amy Lundy has been appointed Principal at Southern Lee High School. She brings a wealth of experience from more than a decade of leadership as principal at Deep River Elementary.

Any student who wants to participate in any athletics tryout or team must have an updated physical. You can take advantage of FREE physicals on Monday, May 20 from 1-5 PM. Make sure all of the forms are completed. A player must receive a medical examination once every 365 days. The physical must also me on the approved form from the NCHSSA
(nchsaa.org) and be cleared to play. The physical covers all sports for 395 days and is kept on file in the Athletics Office of SLHS.

Students must return Chromebooks and chargers to the Media Center by Friday, May 17 (last full day of school). Students should check their email daily for messages overdue items.
Parents can turn in items until May 31, 2024. If an item is not turned in, it will be marked as LOST/STOLEN and locked forever. Fees will be charged to the student if not returned by May 31.
Senior Awards are Wednesday May 15th @ 6:30 PM
The Senior Cruise-in is Thursday May 16th @ 6:00 PM, Seniors will be provided 1 parking pass during lunches on Thursday.
