NC College Connect Information Session for PARENTS:
The UNC System is excited to invite you and your students to the NC College Connect Information Session webinar, a special virtual event focused on the new simplified admissions program for North Carolina students.
What: This virtual event is designed for prospective students, their parents, and school counselors. Representatives from the UNC System and NC Community Colleges will share information about this simplified admission pilot. Admission experts from the pilot campuses - Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, UNC Asheville, UNC Greensboro, UNC Pembroke, and Winston Salem State University - will be available to answer questions.
When: October 17, 2024, from 6:30 pm-7:15 pm.

Underclassmen, get your picture day proofs!!

Lee County Schools is partnering with Downtown Sanford, Inc., Visit Sanford and others to collect items for our neighbors in Western NC who have seen their communities and homes devastated by flooding. You can send donation items on the list below with your child to school or you can deliver your items to the Visit Sanford Welcome Center (229 Carthage St.) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
We are accepting:
Bottled water or Gallons of water
Sports drink powdered packets
Baby wipes
Diapers (children's & adult sizes)
Baby formula
Bug spray
Sunscreen
Plastic utensils
Manual can openers
Trash bags
Non-perishable foods
Cleaning supplies
Plastic sheeting & tarps
Toothbrushes & Toothpaste
Toiletries & Sanitation Items
Pet food (dog & cat)
Hand sanitizer & wipes
Heavy duty work gloves
Socks (all sizes, unopened)

HOSA meets this Wednesday!

Seniors will register during college app week in the media center. Juniors will have from October 28-November 26 to register. New students are welcome to apply for the second semester.

From September - November volunteers will put a staff name down when they record the time they volunteer, the staff with the most hours will get $50 cash in December from your LCHS PTSO.
-Volunteers the age of 12 - 18 must be with parent.
-If the school has a large group (6 or more) then contact Sandy prior to visit.
-Employees of Lee County School cannot work at the thrift store on a teacher workday (considered double dipping.).
-Volunteer hours are Tues - Sat 9-4.
-Donation hours are Tue-Wed, Fri-Sat 9-3.

Save the Date for College Application Week, Seniors:

LCS will operate on a 2-hour delay for students and staff on Tuesday, September 17. This delay will allow for additional daylight hours to ensure the safe travel of buses & provide extra time to make any necessary adjustments to our schedule should conditions change overnight.
