August 13 is the first day of school! We hope to see you at Open House. Attached is the first day of school schedule and an explanation of building acronyms to help you understand your schedule better.

LCHS has made changes to the 2025-2026 regular day bell schedule. Instead of three lunches, we have four lunches to better accommodate lunch sizes. Please note that you have a science class in the Career building, you go to A lunch. All other classes in the Career building go to C Lunch. The other major change you notice is that we are moving from 6 minutes to 5 minutes for transition time between classes. The first few days will help everyone adjust to this change, and we should be moving smoothly come Monday, August 18. Thank you for your continued support to make necessary changes to our bell schedule. Please direct any questions to your student's assigned administrator (see previous post for that information).

Parents and students, please note this important information about the first three days of school as far as schedules are concerned as well as the new structure of how guidance counselors and admin are assigned to students. We are moving away from grade-level assignments. If you have questions or concerns, note where your student's last name falls for who to contact. As always we look forward to a great school year!

Rising Ninth Graders, join us for Summer Bridge! Save the date. Sign up now to reserve your spot.

Due to the increased potential for storms after 4 p.m. tomorrow, the Graduation Ceremony for Lee County High School will now be held indoors at Peace Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
This difficult decision was made in consultation with the National Weather Service and our Operations Department. While this is not the outcome we hoped for, the safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. The change also allows families time to adjust their plans accordingly.
Important Details:
- Each graduate will receive five (5) tickets, to be distributed during graduation practice tomorrow morning.
- Every individual must have a ticket, regardless of age.
- The doors will open for those with tickets at 6:30 p.m.
- Please be aware that no balloons or noisemakers will be allowed inside Peace Gym.
For those unable to attend:
- The ceremony will be streamed live at https://sanfordtv.live.
- McLeod Auditorium will also be open for live streaming. Seating is first-come, first-served.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating the Class of 2025!

LCHS Graduation Practice is on Thursday, May 29, at 8:30am in the cafeteria. Seniors, please arrive no later than 8:30am, so we can begin promptly.

Please see the attached graphic for our summer hours of operation. THANK YOU!

Congratulations to the LCHS eSports team as Donte' Randall (Senior) and Trey Edwards (Junior) have won the State Championships in Mario Kart 8! They competed against 50 other schools at the eSports tournament hosted by VESL on May 18th in Charlotte. Our team is brand new, so this is our first trophy for LCHS! We're so proud of them and all they have accomplished this year.

The students in Mrs. Morton's World History Honors Class enjoyed a fun outdoor scavenger hunt. They received clues along with QR codes that directed them to videos about various historical figures from the Age of Ideas (the Renaissance to the Enlightenment). These QR codes are displayed in Admin Hall for everyone to explore and learn some interesting history before May 16th.

Parents and students, please note our testing schedule for ECOs and CTEs. If your student has testing conflicts, they should see Mrs. Raley in Core 1208 if they haven't already been notified when to test due to a conflict.
Teacher-made exams start today. This week, we will run a regular bell schedule, but each day, a teacher-made exam is given.
Monday: 1st block
Tuesday: 2nd block
Wednesday: 3rd block
Thursday: 4th block
Friday: make-up teacher-made exams
*Student attendance counts this entire week, and students must report to every class period even after they finish the exam for a teacher-made exam. EOC, CTE, and regular teachers are still teaching all week despite exams being given. Please attend school as usual.

LCHS 2025 Graduation is on May 29!

On May 8, 9, and 10, don't miss a chance to see a celebration of our seniors in the 9th annual Broadway Night!

It's been a difficult secret to keep, and today, it has been revealed that that 2025 LCHS yearbook is dedicated to Mr. Wilkins! He's been an educator for 40 years! Yes, you read that correctly! He's served students for 40 years and worked tirelessly to instill the love of music and performance in each student he encounters. Congratulations, Mr. Wilkins!

ATTENTION: please take note of our official testing schedule. In the coming days, students will be told where to report for their testing. Not all students will test with their teacher of record, so it's important students pay attention to where they must report on their designated testing days. THANK YOU!

Students and parents, please see the attached schedule for CTE state exams.

Happy Nurse Appreciation Week to our very own Nurse Nancy! She stays busy helping our students and staff every day, and we love her so much!

We need a LCHS senior to sing the National Anthem at graduation. Are you interested? Apply today!

This week, we show our gratitude for our teachers! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week, educators!
