CTE Spirit Week is next week! Participate with us!

Families, just before 11:00 a.m. today, February 6, 2026, a threat was reported by phone to Lee County High School. Out of an abundance of caution, students and employees were evacuated from their buildings but remained on campus while the Lee County Sheriff's Office conducted a thorough search of all buildings.
We believe that the threat was a hoax, similar to threats received by other schools and districts across the country in the last two weeks.
No threat was found on campus. The all-clear was given and students and staff returned to their scheduled activities at 12:25 p.m. We appreciate the quick response of local law enforcement and their partnership in ensuring the safety of our students and staff.

Whether permitting:
Congratulations to the LCHS winners at the state level for the North Carolina Reading Association Young Author's competition this year! We are so proud of our young authors! Our local celebration for state and county winners will be held on Saturday, April 11th from 10-11:30 at Jonesboro United Methodist Church. This is a floating event.

Attention Beta Members, please read this message from National Beta about this weekend's Convention:
Due to the continued impact of recent winter weather on road conditions, along with additional winter weather forecasted, we have made the difficult decision to transition all North Carolina State Conventions (Elementary, Junior and Senior Beta) to a fully virtual format. After careful consideration, we explored alternative dates with the convention facility. However, no other dates were available that both fell within the convention season and provided clubs adequate time to plan for National Convention.
This was not a decision made lightly. Moving to a virtual convention allows all registered clubs and students to participate, rather than facing the possibility that some clubs would be unable to attend due to travel limitations and safety concerns. Our priority is ensuring equitable access, safety, and a meaningful convention experience for every Beta member.
We understand that this change may be disappointing, and we truly appreciate your flexibility and understanding. Our team is committed to delivering a high-quality virtual convention experience that still celebrates student achievement, leadership, and the hard work of your clubs.
Please see Mrs. Brown for more information.
