J. Glenn Edwards is currently experiencing a power outage due to an automobile accident. Students are safe and crews are working to restore power. It is not necessary to pick up your child, however if you choose to do so, please pick up by 2:00 p.m. Please see your email for additional information.

Lee County Schools is partnering with Downtown Sanford, Inc., Visit Sanford and others to collect items for our neighbors in Western NC who have seen their communities and homes devastated by flooding. You can send donation items on the list below with your child to school or you can deliver your items to the Visit Sanford Welcome Center (229 Carthage St.) from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
We are accepting:
Bottled water or Gallons of water
Sports drink powdered packets
Baby wipes
Diapers (children's & adult sizes)
Baby formula
Bug spray
Sunscreen
Plastic utensils
Manual can openers
Trash bags
Non-perishable foods
Cleaning supplies

LCS will operate on a 2-hour delay for students and staff on Tuesday, September 17. This delay will allow for additional daylight hours to ensure the safe travel of buses & provide extra time to make any necessary adjustments to our schedule should conditions change overnight.

Today some of our Military Group Students received a training on how to lower/raise and fold the American Flag properly! Thank you to our Fort Liberty Soldiers that took the time to come out and train our students!











Lee Co. Health Department will be holding an Immunization/Vaccine Clinic for school-required vaccines September 9th-18th. Call the Health Department at 919-718-4640 to schedule your student's appointment. Appointments can also be scheduled with your medical provider's office


As we look towards the first day for our traditional calendar schools tomorrow, we are glad to remind you that ALL students can receive FREE breakfast and lunch at every LCS Campus for the 2024-2025 school year! Students entering Kindergarten have entry requirements that include the appropriate type of vaccine administrations and the correct number of doses for the student's age. NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has set up a new online dashboard to help parents determine the vaccine requirements for their child's entry to Kindergarten.
