Save the Date!

💛💙Friday was World Down Syndrome Day 💙💛
🧦Did you know? The tradition of wearing crazy, colorful, and mismatched socks on World Down Syndrome Day (March 21st) started because chromosomes look like little socks under a microscope! People with Down syndrome have an extra 21st chromosome, which is why we celebrate on 3/21.
🪩Today, we danced the day away at our Sock Hop, rocking our wildest socks to spread love, awareness, and inclusion! From polka dots to stripes, every pair reminded us that differences make the world brighter.
📸Check out all the cool socks and dance moves below in our album. https://photos.app.goo.gl/bVz4d1VsdH1jXsuY9
We will have a Sock Hop to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day tomorrow!! Make sure you wear your best dancing socks!!

Please contact Natalie to enroll your child in Preschool for the 2025-2026 school year!

🧡 We’re Rocking Orange at FLK! 🧡
Today, our school is proudly wearing ORANGE to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! This special month is all about spreading kindness, embracing diversity, and celebrating the incredible strengths and talents of everyone in our community.
Thank you to all our students, staff, and families for coming together to spread kindness and understanding.

🍦Sweet Shoutout! 🍦
We are extremely grateful for Yarborough’s Ice Cream & Grill for their donation for our upcoming Epic Fun Park Field Trip! Their support is the cherry on top of an unforgettable adventure for some of our elementary and middle students in 2 weeks.
Thanks for being so supportive, Yarborough’s! Don’t forget to support Yarborough’s Homemade Ice Cream & Grill located on McIver Street!

🏒🥅❤️A day full of slapshots, saves, and smiles! Mrs. Lewis’, Ms. Crissman’s, Mrs. Hendrick’s, and Ms. Reece’s classes all went to the Fayetteville Marksmen Education Day Hockey Game. We had a goal-tastic time! Our students had an unforgettable day full of excitement, cheers, and great memories!
⭐️⭐️ A huge thank you to Dip & Dawgs Deli of Broadway and Crossroads Ford of Sanford for making this trip possible! We appreciate you!

Lee County Schools' Spring Job Fair!

Another great community outing in the books!

We had some guest readers in the library today to celebrate Read Across America week! We’d like to give a big thanks to these members of the Lee County High School baseball team. Our kids had a blast listening to the stories they picked. They’re welcome to come back anytime!!

Congratulations Ms. Lisa Smith, FLK's Bus Driver of the Year!

❤️♿️❤️Today at FLK, we celebrated International Wheelchair Day a few days early. March 1st is an important occasion that celebrates mobility, accessibility, and the achievements of wheelchair users worldwide. In honor of the day we wanted to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people who use wheelchairs while also recognizing the progress made in improving their rights and independence. Check out our album below for all the smiling parade participants!
