Broadway Elementary School

We will celebrate "Why You Matter Week" April 29th thru May 3rd. Everyone is invited to participate in our daily themes to remind them how important they are to us and why they matter the most in life! Teacher Appreciation week will be celebrated May 6th-10th! We invite students and parents to show extra gratitude to teachers during that week. We will have daily themes if you choose to join in on the fun. Please also remember your Specials Teachers (PE, Art, Music, Science, Library, ESL, EC, AIG).

Broadway students took home several art awards over the weekend at the Festival of the Arts . Yasmin Melgar received the principal’s award . Savannah Faircloth won the Superintendent’s award and Savannah Goldston won the Mayor’s Choice award . Great job wildcats !!

Broadway Families, It was a beautiful day to spruce up the grounds at Broadway Elementary! We picked up trash, pulled weeds, placed new mulch, and planted shrubs. Lots of laughter and yummy snacks were enjoyed all morning! We still have a few more areas we would like to clean up and renovate before August. 🐾 Our week has been filled with laughter, games, vibrant colors, and plenty of smiles! From Field Day to Family Night with STEM activities, Book Fair, and Art Show, it's been an eventful time. Teachers, staff, and families, thank you for helping us make this week successful and meaningful!

We are excited to announce our 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Wallace. The Teacher Assistant of the Year is Mrs. Cockerham. 🎉🎉❤️ We are also celebrating Administrative Professionals Day! Thank you Mrs. Brown, Mrs. DeLeon and Mrs. Miranda! Our school is proud to have these ladies in the front office. 🎉🎉❤️

⚽️ Broadway student athletes, staff and volunteers had a great time at the Lee County Special Olympics on Friday! Students participated in various races and activities.

Recently, the Broadway track team competed against the other 8 Elementary Schools in the county. After all the points were tallied the team finished 2nd overall. We had numerous students qualify for final events and several who finished in the top three of these events. Our tug-a-war team proved to be the strongest team in the county finishing in first place. Go Wildcats! Students who placed in the finals of events. 50m boys- 2nd place- Jordan Everett 100m boys- 3rd place- Jordan Everett 200 m boys- 2nd place- Trent Gill 200m girls - 1st place- Miriam Murchinson 4x100 team - 2nd place- Karlessa Paul, Trent Gill, Jordan Everett, Khalise Baldwin 4x200 team - 2nd place- Lucas Rugenstein, Miriam Murchinson, Malaysia Yankana, Giovanni Salvador Tug-a-war team- 1st place- Eilot Reible, Warren Campbell, Reese Rosser, Jake Siegfried, Micahel Purcell, Savannah Faircloth, Harlow Kelly, Emily Balling, Brooklyn Johnson, Malaysia Yankana

Students at Broadway sold close to 500 boxes to help raise money for our school. Students in K-5 who sold at least one box attended a school dance party. Students who sold two or more boxes was able to silly string our admin team and received an ice cream treat. Our grand prize winner, Harry in Mrs. Ellis's PreK class sold 15 boxes. The third graders in Mrs. Buchanan's class had the highest total sales. Thank you to the school community, parents and families who helped to raise money for our school. 🎊❤️🎊

Due to expected inclement weather this afternoon and evening, all after school activities have been cancelled for today.

Due to high winds, we have lost power at several schools. At this time, we do not plan to release students early given the current conditions. Power is estimated to be restored between 11-11:30am. We will continue to monitor conditions to ensure the safety of students and staff.

🍎 The Broadway Wildcats’ Honorable Mention Teacher of the Month is a wonderful team leader and teammate. This teacher is hard-working and an awesome educator. She always strives to ensure the success of all students.
