Q: What about the district makes it a special place to work?
Harrison: "I went to school and graduated from here.I was born and raised here so I know almost everyone. It is a close knit community, and being able to really know so many co-workers and student families makes it a pretty special place."
Q: How have your relationships with colleagues and students enriched your life and career?
Harrison: "I hope it has made me a better person. You have to learn; it ain't about you. It is about God's plan and glory. "
Q: What has been the most rewarding aspect of watching students grow and succeed during your time at Lee County Schools?
Harrison: "Well the question is part of the answer. It is very rewarding when I run into former students, and in a town our size, you often do, and hear about how they have gone on to succeed in whatever. It is also very rewarding when I see that they have remembered something I taught them years ago."
Q: As you reflect on your time in Lee County Schools, what are you most proud of?
Harrison: "I reckon I am most proud of the students. In this profession sometimes you are not sure if you are making an impact or not. But then a former student (or current student) will write you a letter or card expressing their gratitude and/or letting you know how you have helped them in some way. It is always special when students reach back out and let you know how much they appreciate you."
Q: If there is one thing you could tell future employees about this district, what would it be?
Harrison: "Be patient with students and staff, and be thankful for the close knit relationships you will create in this profession. Time goes by so fast. Trust God in the process and outcome. "
