NC State experience
Last Friday, our AVID students had an amazing time exploring NC State University! We walked around campus, visited the iconic Bell Tower, and enjoyed lunch at Clark Dining Hall. One of the highlights was getting to leave our mark by spray painting AVID RULES in the Freedom Tunnel! The beautiful weather made the experience even better. Please remember that if you have candy still out from our fundraiser, all money is due back by Monday, February 10, by 2:30 pm. You must turn in your money by Monday to be eligible for your prize. You are responsible for the money no matter what, so make sure that you get it turned in on time so that you get to receive the prize that you earned.
A group of Stallion musicians participated in UNCG's Brass & Percussion Day. College professors and professional musicians gave masterclasses on their instruments and on assorted topics, such as "Intro to Jazz." The day ended in a concert in the Tew Recital Hall, where participants performed two pieces they had learned throughout the day. A huge shoutout goes to the best bus driver Mr. Blackmon, and for the best band teacher Ms. Davis for helping us have the largest number of kids from any middle school attend the event. :)
