A note from the Principal | Mrs. Wendy Perrell

It is a privilege to begin my fourth year as Principal of Broadway Elementary School. I am truly honored to lead a school filled with resilient students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and a community that believes in our Wildcats. Working together, we continue to create opportunities for every child to learn, grow, and succeed.

With over 25 years in education, including 17 years with Lee County Schools, I have had the privilege of serving as a middle school teacher, Technology Facilitator, Literacy Coach, Testing Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and now Principal. Each of these experiences has strengthened my commitment to creating a positive and inclusive school environment where every child can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

We have so much to celebrate at Broadway! During the 2024–2025 school year, Broadway Elementary received the Head of Class Award for achieving the highest academic growth among the elementary schools. Our students have continued to make strong academic gains over the past two years with growth and proficiency. These accomplishments are the result of the hard work of our students and staff, along with the tremendous support of our parents, families, and community members.

This year, I was also deeply honored to be named Lee County Schools Principal of the Year. While I am grateful for this recognition, I know that the success of a principal is directly connected to the people surrounding them. I am incredibly fortunate to work alongside a team that puts students first and a community that continues to support our school.

Building strong relationships with students, families, and our community remains at the heart of everything we do. My door is always open, and I welcome your questions, ideas, and feedback. We are proud of how far Broadway has come, but we know our work is not finished. Together, we will continue moving forward, setting high expectations, and helping every Wildcat reach their fullest potential.

Thank you for trusting us with your child’s education and for being an important part of our Broadway family.

#WeAreBroadway!

Warm Regards,

Wendy Perrell, Principal
