Top of the 2020 Class

Nicolette Rojas

"Throughout my entire life, I have been surrounded by many teachers, church members, friends, and family that have been there to guide me. Whether it was simply an assignment or something much deeper, I knew these people were only a phone call away. However, the two most important people who have been there during every high and every low are my mother, Stephanie Rojas, and my sister, Olivia Rojas. They both have instilled in me a faith in God that goes beyond my own understanding, compassion for others, and the strength to endure any hardships I may encounter. They have shown me what it means to love unconditionally, and I will forever be grateful for every sacrifice they have made for me.

This fall, I will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with the intention of double majoring in Health Policy & Management and Sociology as an Honors student. I hope to one day travel the world, going to areas where basic human rights are not being met and creating policies and programs to make a change."

"Hello everyone! I am honored to represent the class of 2020 as Salutatorian. First, I would like to thank my amazing family for always encouraging me to do my best. I would also like to thank my teachers and friends for always believing in me. Although graduation is not happening like we imagined, I still consider this to be a bittersweet moment that we will remember forever. I am very excited to start the next chapter in my life at NC State University in the fall. I plan on majoring in Biology with a Human Bio Intent and minor in Spanish as part of the University Scholars Program. Although we are all going our separate ways, I believe that we will all cherish the memories we have made the past four years. I wish everybody the best of luck as you all start the next chapter in your life."

Sincerely,

Megan Collins
