ATTENTION: Beginning January 22, 2019, 15 minutes will be added on to the school day and March 22, 2019 is now a full instructional day for students.
The Lee County Board of Education voted — at its regularly scheduled meeting on January 8, 2019 — to extend the school day by 15 minutes beginning Tuesday, January 22, 2019 so as to have extra instructional time built up in case of future inclement weather for the 2018-19 school year. The Board will revisit the additional 15 minutes at its regularly scheduled February and March meetings to gauge whether the additional time is still needed. The Board also voted to make March 22, 2019 — originally a teacher workday — a full instructional day of school for students.
