Welcome Military Families!

We at Greenwood Elementary School are committed to providing a safe and welcoming experience for all students.  We understand that each military family can experience a variety of hardships and challenges.   As a staff, we are committed to providing support and guidance for both the military child and family during their time at Greenwood as well as during any transitions.

Greenwood is fortunate to have a Military and Family Life Counselor available to our military students.  This support can extend to the families, as well as staff working with these students.  Our MFLC, Edna Stephens, provides support for a variety of issues military students may face. Issues may include, but are not limited to, deployment stress, relocation adjustment, reintegration, separation, anger management, conflict resolution, parenting, parent-child communication, relationships and family issues, coping skills, homesickness, and grief and loss.  Families can contact our MCFL by emailing ednastephens@lee.k12.nc.us or calling 910-751-9225.

Caywood

A Message from Principal Caywood:

I had the honor of serving in the United States Navy beginning in 2001 as a non-nuclear mechanic, operating auxiliary equipment aboard a submarine. During my time in service, I experienced firsthand the challenges of deployment and the difficulty of being separated from family.

The camaraderie built among the crew quickly taught me the importance of connection, resilience, and pushing forward together to achieve a common goal.

I am truly excited to show support for the men and women who currently serve, as well as those who have served in the past. We thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and your unwavering commitment to protecting our freedoms. Your perseverance and dedication do not go unnoticed, and we are proud to support our military families here at Greenwood Elementary.
