Welcome to Food & Nutrition class! I am Ms. Gwen B. Williams, a lifelong resident of Sanford, North Carolina. In 1990, I graduated from Lee Senior HIgh School. After high school, I attended CCCC for two years and transferred to Campbell University in Buies Creek. While at Campbell, I majored in Family & Consumer Sciences with a minor in Business Management and a minor in Marketing. I worked in retail for a few years and decided to obtain a teaching certificate. In 1996, I began my first year teaching at Western Harnett High. In 1998, I moved to Lee County High to teach Family & Consumer Sciences. When Southern Lee opened in 2005, I started teaching at the new school. Since beginning teaching, I have taught Teen Living, Independent Living, Interior Design, Parenting & Child Development, Early Childhood Education, and Food & Nutrition. My passion is Food & Nutrition! Recently, I attended Johnson & Wales University to obtain a certification in Culinary Nutrition. In addition to teaching, I also cater part- time with Chef Gregg Hamm at Cafe 121 and Brad & Annette Schlitz at Brannan-Schlitz Barbeque. I am certified in both Family & Consumer Sciences and Special Education through NC Department of Public Instruction.
