Welcome to the Physical Science course! I'm excited about this year, even with the special challenges that this temporary distance learning environment requires. I promise that you will get no less of an education in this subject than you would if we were back in the classroom, as I hope we will be soon.
I have been teaching science at Lee County High School for over 20 years. It has been an honor to do so and I look forward to what will probably be one of the more memorable years in my career.
Before becoming a teacher i worked as a chemist and lab technician, so i am very familiar with the job opportunities that science education can offer. I am a graduate of Washington University in St Louis, with additional education at Albany medical College and Wichita State University. I was born and raised in New York but have lived in Sanford for the past two decades and can now usually navigate Horner Blvd. My wife and 8 cats live in a nice old house just a few miles from the school.
In my spare time I make indie films, with an emphasis on special effects. This has served me well during a time when producing videos as an educational tool has proven invaluable. I also do podcasts on films and filmmaking and will gladly offer advice to anyone seeking to explore these creative outlets on their own.
I am a passionate believer in always educating yourself throughout your life. In a world where news and opinion is at your fingertips, it can be easy to be taken in by bad information. I am not here to convince you of any political agenda. I want to help you understnd the basic rules by which the physical world around you operates and nurture the ability to seek and evaluate answers on your own.
Please feel free to message me about any course-related needs, I will do everything to respond within 24 hours. firstname.lastname@example.org When in the school building I am in Admin 1034 .ext 2646

Additional live instruction will be provided on some Tuesday and Thursdays, and will be in the daily announcements. Even on days without a live instruction element, there WILL be work assigned and it would be wise to do it in the usual alloted time. Assignments are due the day they are assigned and after 5-7 days, will no longer be available, so it is critical to do them in a timely manner.
