Jeff Coggins - CTE - Industrial Trades Department

My name is Jeff Coggins and I teach Metals Manufacturing Technology and Introduction to Trade and Industrial Education. I am a 1980 graduate of Lee County High School and I lived in the same shop that I now teach. I went to college and took Tool & Die/ MoldMaking. After graduating, I went to work in several different machine shops in Lee County and have stayed in the field for more than 30 years. Teaching what I know offers me a chance to pass on what I have learned to students. It is a very rewarding job.

What is MMT? It is an onsite machine shop.  We have 2 levels. Level 1 is 18 weeks.  Level 2 is 36 weeks.  You must pass level 1 to be able to go into level 2.  We have milling machines, lathes, drill presses, saws, a precision grinder and offer arc, mig and tig welding. We do a variety of class projects plus individual projects that students want to do.This is a complete ''hands-on'' class and it is AWESOME!
