Greetings! My name is Ciji Burnham, and I am thrilled to share my journey with you. This year I will be serving Sanlee Middle School, as both an Academic Coach and Assistant Principal Intern. I am currently working to earn my Master’s in School Administration at Campbell University. 

My educational journey began in the Sunshine State, where I pursued my Bachelor's degree at the University of South Florida. However, life soon took me back to the Lone Star State, Texas, my birthplace. It was there that I met my wonderful husband and had two beautiful children. Most recently, we moved to North Carolina when my husband was stationed at Ft. Liberty in 2020.

For the last fourteen years, I have taught a variety of subjects, spanning grades five through eight. My commitment extended beyond the classroom as I took on roles such as a mentor teacher. As my journey in education progressed, I developed a passion for helping other teachers refine their craft. Whether it was supporting new educators as they navigated their first years in the classroom or collaborating with seasoned veterans to brainstorm innovative teaching approaches, I was driven by the goal of enhancing the learning experience for all students.

My ultimate aspiration is to support our students, inspiring them to achieve their best potential each and every day. Education is not merely a profession for me; it's a calling, a chance to shape the future and empower the next generation.

 In my free time, I enjoy traveling, visiting family and exploring new restaurants and coffee shops. Staying active is another passion of mine, and I enjoy hiking, swimming, and practicing yoga.
