Anton Wilson

Hello Rocket Family,

I am excited to serve as the Dean of Students for East Lee Middle School. I'm an Ohio native, but I have called North Carolina my home since 2005.  My career choice to be in education has been heavily influenced by my parents, who are both retired teachers.  I earned my bachelor's degree in history, secondary education, and psychology.  I also hold a master's degree in school counseling, and a graduate degree in school administration.  As a teacher I taught several different high school history classes and 6th grade social studies.  After being in the classroom for ten years, I was a middle school counselor for seven years.  As a teacher and counselor, I have also always coached sports at the high school and middle school levels.  I have coached soccer, football, basketball, lacrosse, and track.  Out of all the sports I have coached and played, soccer is my favorite sport.  In 2019,  I moved here to Lee County Schools when I had the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal at Southern Lee High School.

I look forward to meeting you and your student(s).  Middle school is an awesome time where students learn all the skills necessary to be successful in their life.  This is the time for students to begin to start exploring careers, learning how to set goals, and completing the goals they set.  Throughout my career I have always enjoyed working with students and helping them to find their "wins".  Although when my former students/players were the opposing coach, I didn't want them to beat me for the win.  I look forward to working with you to help your student(s) find their "wins".

My favorite quote:  "In a race all the runners run their very best to win, but only one receives the prize.  Run your race in such a way that you may seize the prize  make it yours!"
