Hello Rockets,

My name is Robert Newby and I am excited to be your principal this school year. I am a native of Sanford, NC and I am a product of Lee County Schools. I began my career in 1992 as an Instructional Assistant and Bus Driver. I transferred to SanLee Middle School in 2008, where I taught middle school math. I completed my Administrative Internship at Lee County High School in 2015. In 2016, I became one of four Assistant Principals. I count it an honor to return where my career began 25+ years ago to help lead the Rockets to success.

I believe that every student can learn and each student is entitled to learn in a safe and inviting environment. It is my goal to ensure the success of every student at East Lee Middle School.
