School Social Worker

Hi! I’m Brooke Hartson, the school social worker at Deep River Elementary, Tramway Elementary, and Warren Williams NC PreK. As a school social worker, I assist students and their families in overcoming barriers to education by connecting them to resources within the school and the community. I help to improve the communication between families and the school by supporting the emotional needs of students, conferencing with families, and making home visits. As part of my role, I assist with student enrollment, provide McKinney Vento services to families that have been displaced from their permanent residence, and address chronic absenteeism.
