Welcome to the website for the LCHS Beta Club!!
The National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America. It was founded in 1934 by Dr. John W. Harris in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The organization's mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. The LCHS chapter officially received its charter on April 4th, 2019.
The Beta Club at LCHS is open to students who are service-minded, interested in leadership, and willing to promote the Beta ideals of achievement, character, leadership, and service.
Students inducted into the LCHS Beta Club are required to perform 15 service hours per year. Their service hours may come from any club activity on campus or any volunteer work outside of school. The form for tracking service hours is available to all Beta Club members via the Beta Google Classroom page.
The new charter induction was held on 5/15/19 in the LCHS board room. Moving forward, the process of inducting new members will happen in the Fall of each school year and officer elections w will be held each spring for the following school year.
The Beta Club officers for the 2019-2020 school year are:
President: Abigail Milford
Vice President: Abby Gordon
Secretary: Ginny Smith
