• Welcome! My name is Patience Whitehead. I am entering my 17th year of teaching and my 2nd year at Lee County High School. As a Teaching Fellow, I attended UNC-Chapel Hill and earned a B.A in Biology w/minor in English (2003) and a M.A.T in Secondary Science Education (2004). I have been honored to receive the Teacher of the Year award twice during my career. Most of my teaching experience is in teaching Biology and Earth/Environmental Science at both the Honors and Academic levels. However, I have also taught Anatomy and Physiology, Physical Science, IB ESS, Freshmen Seminar, and even Tech Math I and II. During the Fall semester 2020, I will teach 9th grade AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) as well as Honors and Academic Biology.
