    We are expanding! 

    Lee County Schools is committed to feeding our students! Both breakfast and lunch can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at our Child Nutrition Hubs, or from 12noon to 12:30 p.m. at our LCS Lunch Box on Wheels locations on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Meals are free for those under the age of 18 years old.

    Where to find meals and food relief:
    Several schools and community agencies will serve as food distribution sites for Lee County Schools families. 
    Families may pick up food at the locations and times indicated below. 
    Food will be distributed at curbside/walk up to minimize safety concerns.

    There are four types of food offerings in Lee County:
    LCS School Sites: Curbside pickup/walk up — a breakfast and lunch will be offered for each child, aged 18 and under, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
    LCS Lunch Box on Wheels: Walk up to the bus — a breakfast and lunch will be offered for each child, aged 18 and under, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12noon to 12:30 p.m.
    CUOC (Christians United Outreach) Backpack Pals: Pickup on Tuesdays and Thursdays at CUOC's summer drop off sites. 
    Food Pantry and Meals: Offering food relief for the entire family.

    • East Sanford Baptist Church: Parking lot at the corner of North Avenue and N 3rd Street
    • Oakhill Mobile Home Park: Corner of Hawkins Avenue and Deep River Road
    • Pine Village Mobile Home Park: Corner of Firethorn Lane and Alder Lane
    • Thornwood Village: Bus stop shelter

    Food Pantry and Meals: 
    CUOC — Curbside pickup for food pantry on Mondays from 3:45 p.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., located at 2885 Lee Avenue
    BreadBasket — To-go lunch served walk up only, Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., located at 140 E Chisholm Street

    Want to Help? 
    We are grateful for the outreach from many of our parents and community members asking how they can help. We ask that you take any food donations and plastic grocery bags to CUOC, located at 2885 Lee Avenue, Sanford NC 27332. Please consider a monetary donation to our community non-profits.

     

     

    ¡Estamos creciendo! Lee County Schools se compromete a alimentar a sus estudiantes.     In order to provide the utmost safety for your child, we enforce the following entrance procedures at our school:
    • You must present your photo ID to enter the building
    • You must state the reason for your visit
    • You must state your child's name
     
    Deep River Elementary Now Follows Lee County Student Dress Code:
    • Shorts, skirts, skorts and jumpers are acceptable at a dollar bill width (2 1/2 inches) above the knee, or longer.
    • Shoes are to be properly secured/fastened/tied rubber soled shoes (no crocs, sandals, flip flops, or high heels).
    • Coats/jackets must be worn outdoors only.
    • All clothing must fit and not be baggy, long or sagging. In such cases, shirts will be tucked in and/or a belt required.
    • Student dress, hair, and grooming must be appropriate, safe, and non-disruptive to the educational environment.
    • Lee County Student Code of Conduct, Point 2: No head covering of any kind can be worn inside the building.

    YMCA

    The YMCA will offer a new After School program onsite at Deep River during the 2018-2019 school year!

    The program will operate any day that school is in from the time that the bell rings until 6pm.

    For more information, parents can:  stop by the Y at 1907 K M Wicker Memorial Drive, call the YMCA at 919-777-9622, or go on our website at www.ymcatriangle.org 
    Financial assistance is available on a first come, first serve basis.  You can pick up an application from the Y or print one online.
