VideoWhile a picture is worth a thousand words, capturing moments on video really allows you to relive the experience all over again. In this unit, we will develop the skills to become better at using a camera and editing video clips. We will also be learning useful information about video characteristics and distribution methods. This type of knowledge and skill can be useful in many different fields of study including communications, marketing, television production, and others. Whether you're an aspiring Hollywood director or just an amateur videographer, this unit will be useful and interesting.
The software we will be learning to create video productions is Adobe Premiere Pro. It is a non-linear, timeline based program that is highly powerful, yet rather easy to use. It works seamlessly with other Adobe programs, like Photoshop and After Effects (a video animation creator). We will be practicing some very useful tools and features that will help you create amazing video productions. However, we will only be learning a small representation of what this software is fully capable of doing.
This software is very powerful, which results in it being rather difficult to navigate at times. To learn the basic tools and features of Adobe Premiere, we will begin by manipulating still images and adding motion, opacity, and other animation effects. As the class becomes more proficient, moving video will be captured and edited to produce creative, professional artifacts that demonstrate the students' knowledge and skill in video production. The content about video production is diverse and can seem very technical at times, but it is very necessary to operate in a professional setting. Things happen very quickly on set of a production, so it's important to understand technical terms and how they are applied in a real-world workplace. We will learn common video file types and their characteristics.Video productions are the best type of digital media to entertain an audience and accomplish an intended purpose. They incorporate graphic design, animation techniques, audio production, and capturing video all wrapped up into one. In order to create an effective and truly great video production, it is important to consider all of these areas during its creation. To learn the basics of video production, you will start by animating still images and editing them to the beat of music. This will allow you to explore and grasp the Adobe Premiere Pro software.Presentation 1_____________________________________

Presentation 2JAZZ VIDEO PROJECTTo get started in Premiere, you are going to create a music video that will help you learn some basic tools and features. You have been given a short jazz music clip and a collection of images related to the genre and its musicians. Download all of the files given to you.
Listen to the jazz music and take notice of the constant beat. You will have a new jazz image appear at each one of these music beats. Editing video to the beat of music is a basic skill that is used in all levels of video production. After you have placed a new image at every beat of the jazz music, add a beginning title and an ending title to your video in Premiere. Finally, add scale and position animation to each still image using the keyframes in the Effect Controls panel.MY EXAMPLE:music file:Starting Procedures/Steps:-Have all files in same folder. ALWAYS!-Open Premiere-> New Project-> DV NTSC or AVCHD(High Definition) -> Go to Bin...File-> Import all files to use...keep at 44.1 kHz to 48 kHz-Image should be 720 x 480...check source window to make sure all files imported...check that you defaulted to 30 frames per second in the timecode.-Files can be dragged into the timeline just like Garageband, Flash and MSW Moviemaker.-Remember Command I is the Inspector and Command K cuts (splits) tracks.-Add keyframe: to fade or other effects-Yellow line is volume...edit with dot.-Use keyframe arrows to line up Playhead.-Lock Audio after you finish editing.-Click on Video 1 to highlight-> Overlap still images 1 second to dissolve from first to next. WORK YOUR PICTURES TO THE BEAT!-Fade In & Out-> Use the Effects Tab at the lower left of the screen...Video-> Video Transitions-> Dissolve-> click and drag to location on timeline...adjust length...video transitions can be Iris Diamond/Box/Round/Etc...You can zoom in and out also.-When finished...Render.-You can also use PhotoShop to resize pics if needed.HAVE FUN!!!Jazz Video with Text titles below:
