• Drawing and Painting II Course Description

This studio art course continues the development and further refinement of skills necessary for sketching and rendering, as well as painting technique, with an emphasis on creative expression, critical thinking and problem solving.  Students will continue to develop their compositional understanding by applying the Elements and Principles of Design to their sketches, drawings and final paintings, while communicating personal expression in every artwork they create.  A variety of artists and visual art time periods will be studied as students discover how they are relevant in both art history and to the individual student’s work.  Media for this course may include, but are not limited to pencil, ink, charcoal, chalk pastels, markers, tempera, watercolor, oil pastel, colored pencil, acrylic and mixed media.
