Meet Mrs. Barker
I wanted to take the time to let you know a little about myself. I am a native of Lee County and as a child attended J.R. Ingram in the 4th-6th grades back when the school first opened. I graduated from Lee Senior in 1997 and from there attended CCCC where I received my Associates Degree. I then transferred to Meredith College majoring in Psychology and receiving my K-6 licensure in elementary education. After graduating college, I got married to my husband, Brent, of 17 years. I then began my teaching career at J.R. Ingram. I taught first grade for 2 years before deciding to have a beautiful daughter, Kailey. After spending 2 years at home as an at-home-mom, I decided to return to teaching. I taught 2 years in kindergarten and 1.5 years in first grade at B.T. Bullock. I then decided to have another beautiful daughter, Emma, in which I stayed at home with for 1.5 years. As you know, I have decided to return to teaching once again. This is my tenth year teaching 2nd grade and I am very happy to be back at J.R. Ingram as your child’s teacher. I look forward to an amazing year.
