The Alternative Elementary School has two classrooms, kindergarten to second, and third to fifth grades. Each classroom has a Dual certified teacher and a qualified instructional assistant. The students receive individualized academic instruction during the first part of their day within the classroom and the second half of the day is social skill instruction delivered by the counselors.
The NC Pre K has six classrooms taught by North Carolina Licensed Early Childhood Educators. Each classroom are assisted by Instructional Assistants who have extensive knowledge of early childhood development. During the school day other staff members may work with children who require specialized services such as speech/language, occupational or physical therapy and/or special education. We are also the home of a EC Pre K classroom serving students as early as three years of age.
Warren Williams Alternative Elementary School operate classes from 8:00 A.M. through 2:30 P.M. and follow the regular school calendar. The school holds a total of 118 preschoolers and 20 elementary students. Warren Williams also offers transportation on limited basis for the pre kindergarten students.
Our focus is on the whole child; to help children succeed in school and in life as well, by providing researched based and rich developmentally appropriate experiences. Children will learn to develop positive relationships, develop self esteem, thinking skills, and an enthusiasm for learning that improves their language, literacy, math, and social skills. We are an intervention program that serves a population in which students are at risk, typically developing, and/or requiring behavioral support.
