My name is Rae Cox and I am the school social worker assigned to W.B. Wicker. I was
fortunate to start at the end of the 2021-2022 school and was able to meet and work with some
amazing teachers and staff. I looking forward to a great first year of supporting and encouraging
our great students. My personal mission statement is to be the best human being I can be and, in
the process, perform in a way that would be pleasing to all and ultimately pleasing to God. I
plan to carry this mission over to my responsibilities as W.B. Wicker’s school social worker.
I am originally from Pennsylvania and have been in North Carolina for over 20 years. I am a
former graduate of UNC Pembroke where I completed my undergraduate and graduate
programs. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) where my experience before WBW
included providing mental health services to children and young adults; and care management
services for all populations.
It has always been a desire to work in the school system and supporting students to being
successful individuals, academically and in every aspect of their lives. I am honored to be apart
