Welcome to East Lee Middle School! My name is Kasey Maynard. I am one of the 7th grade Social Studies teacher. This will be my first year at East Lee Middle as well as my first year teaching. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May 2022. I was born and raised in Wake County. My favorite things to do are spend time at the beach or watch football with my family.   

I believe learning should be fun and engaging to get our students to want to learn. In my classroom, students can expect to cooperate with each other and show mutual respect to maintain a positive learning environment. I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child's years of schooling. It is extremely important to keep in mind that we all build on small successes. Each child will progress at his/her own rate, acquiring skills at his or her own pace. Maintaining each child's self-esteem and building a secure foundation for future growth will always remain a priority in my classroom. 

It is vital that your child complete all assignments in full on time, and study/review material on a daily basis. These things will help lead to success. Also your child’s education can be greatly enhanced by their parents' involvement. You are just as important to your child’s overall success as I am. Please be sure to check your child’s grades. Make sure to celebrate your child's success, no matter how small it may seem. This will keep your child enthusiastic about learning and proud of their work!
