• As high school sports get underway this week with volleyball and cross country matches, Lee County Schools will comply with Governor Roy Cooper’s Executive Orders 169 regarding gatherings at indoor and outdoor athletic venues along with North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) guidelines.

Currently, spectator allowance at NCHSAA indoor athletic venues is a maximum of 25, while the spectator allowance at NCHSAA outdoor athletic venues is 100. The Tri-County Athletic Conference, to which both Lee County and Southern Lee High Schools belong, has decided that all spectator tickets will go to the home team. Lee County Schools will offer tickets to parents of current players first and then offer remaining tickets to the general public on the day of a home athletic event.

Athletic schedules can be found on each high school’s website. All athletic tickets must be purchased online via GoFan.co. Each ticket will cost $8. The ticket price of $7 is set by the conference and a $1 service fee is added by GoFan. No tickets may be purchased at the athletic event. Each high school website has information regarding ticket purchases and other pertinent information.

All attendees are asked to please observe the 3 W’s – wear a mask (required), wait six feet apart and wash your hands often.

Student orientations for athletic conditioning and band clinics will begin the week of September 21, with activities to resume during the weeks of September 28 and October 5.

Driver’s education teachers will participate in staff safety training sessions during the week of September 28, with students being allowed to begin driving during the week of October 5.

Information about each of these activities can be found on the Lee County High School and Southern Lee High School websites.
