• I am often referred to as the teacher with two first names :)

This is my 13th year teaching. I have a diverse background which has allowed me to develop a wide range of skills to support students. I began my career as a special education teacher with a focus in mathematics, grades 6 - 12. Before coming to Bragg Street Academy, I spent several years teaching 8th grade math. I really enjoy continuing my own education and I have completed a master's degree in school administration. I am a two-time graduate from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. While completing my bachelor's degree in Special Education, I minored in Fine Arts.

All of these experiences have led me here to Bragg Street, where I am excited about taking on the role of Art Teacher. I look forward to working with the students to encourage them to appreciate the Arts, but understand and utilize the benefits of the Arts as a stress management tool.

My favorite artist is Picasso, particularly The Old Guitarist, mostly because it reminds me of my Dad.
