Carpentry I begins with Orientation to the Trades. This module introduces students to some of the history of the carpentry trade and will identify career and entrepreneurial opportunities that are available. This module will also discuss the organizations associated with this course such as National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and SkillsUSA. After that, we began to get into some of the basics of carpentry such as hand and power tools, building materials, fasteners, and adhesives, Introduction to construction drawing, floor framing, wall framing, and basic stair layout.
Carpentry II begins with ceiling and roof framing and progressess into roofing appications, thermal and moisture protection, weatherization, building envelope system, and finally exterior finishing.
